Microsoft Corp. recently reported that a Zune-branded phone is part of its future plans to expand in the digital music market, now dominated by Apple Computer Inc.'s iPod. According to Chris Stephenson, general manager of global marketing for Zune, "A Zune phone is definitely part of the future of this brand"

Last Thursday, Microsoft showcased the Zune portable media player and said it will be on sale in the United States this holiday shopping season. Movie downloads will not be part of the first Zune product.

Recently, we reported that Apple enthusiasts can't wait for Apple to announce the iPhone or iTalk. There are already spec ads on the Internet of what an Apple phone commercial would look like. It seems the cell phone market will be getting more crowded in the near future.
