According to a recent study by Verizon Wireless, residents of Miami, Fla., topped the list, making 298 calls per month. The other top cities are Los Angeles, El Paso, San Antonio and Las Vegas.
Three other large midwestern cities ranked in the top 30 of the Verizon Wireless survey - Milwaukee placed 19th on the survey, with an average of 211 monthly calls, Chicago placed 24th with 208 calls per month and Indianapolis placed 28th with 201 calls per month. (See full list below.)The Verizon Wireless study counted incoming and outgoing calls and minutes of use data for one month during the first half of this year that is routinely collected by the company.
Calls – which were counted based on home billing addresses – may have been made anywhere in the U.S. customers traveled, as well as in the callers’ home cities. No private, individual customer records or information was examined or used for the purposes of this informal study.
