Canadian 2nd Largest Carrier Tries to Sell Sex to Subscribers

Well we all know it's coming. Sooner or later a cell phone carrier will try to push pornography onto cell phones. Why you ask? Because there is big money in pornography!

According to industry analysts Jupiter Research, adult content on mobile devices will be worth $3.3 billion by 2011, up from $1.4 billion this year.

Most people don't realize that the biggest pedler of pornography are the cable and satellite companies such as Comcast, Direct TV, AT&T, Dish Network, etc. You get the message.

Well last month Telus, Canada's second-largest cell phone operator, tried to quietly sell pornography to cell phone subscribers.

However, it back fired after the New York Times ran a story about the new service. Religious groups and Telus subscribers were very upset. However, I'm sure Canadian cable and satellite operators sell pornography.

By Wednesday, Telus cancelled the service. For Telus, its venture into pornography came to an end almost as quickly as it began. However, company officials stated that it was possibile that the carrier will one day sell smut to cell phone subscribers.
